About Me

I'm Kate, and I go to Bradley University, I love to cook and I believe that Isa Chandra Moskowitz is a vegan genius. I have been vegetarian for almost 14 years and in 2007 I decided to educate myself further about what the factory farming industry is doing to our earth and how the animals are being treated. I started reading Vegan Freak and it really opened my eyes to a world that is not highly exposed. After I quit eating dairy and eggs I felt so much better in body and mind. I will admit that I did go back to lacto-ovo vegetarianism and that was when I really noticed the differences in myself. This is by far not my whole 'how I became vegan' story but there is just so much behind it and just like most people it's a pretty personal story.

When I turned vegan I was just heading back to college after an extended hiatus and we ate dinner at restaurants all the time and we could only go to maybe 2 or 3 restaurants because I just didn't now were I could get GOOD vegan food. So my mission is to seek out as many vegan friendly places in and around Peoria, IL so people interested in becoming vegan will have more options-- and experienced vegans might learn about a few new places to eat with friends.

If you know of someplace I should visit, please let me know! You can email me at vpckate@gmail.com
